Launched on August 1st, 2009 in the presence of Dr. K. C. Chakrabarty, Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India, the SME Forum is the Council’s exclusive membership based executive briefing, advisory and networking service. It provides much needed opportunity to owner-manager and chief executives of small and medium – sized businesses to interact with foremost experts, domestic and international business and government leaders as well as amongst themselves, in an ongoing, comprehensive and co-creative manner to learn about emerging business trends, new business opportunities, and find solutions to business challenges, involving:
- Setting up domestic/overseas Joint Ventures (e.g. Green Field, Strategic Alliances)
- Sourcing Technology to improve products, processes etc.
- Launch of new product, entry into new markets
- Accessing financial resources from domestic and/or International markets
Members would be provided information, analysis, strategic insights, personal consultations, customized services as well as access to select experts and consultants on its panel, specialized conferences and workshops to enable them to make better informed business decisions. Government support would be sought for promotion of domestic and also foreign, trade commerce.
The SME forum’s thrust on bringing issues faced by small and mid-sized businesses to centre stage would be an added value for its members. Another benefit to members would be its contemplated alliances with similar networks and organizations all over the world.
