The topic for discussion was "Goods & Services Tax", it was addressed by Dr. Jaijit Bhattacharya, Senior Partner, Government Strategy, Regulatory & Policy, KPMG; President, Centre for Digital Economy Policy Research, C-DEP) Adjunct Professor, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi Convener for Economic Standards for Smart Cities, Bureau of Indian Standards, Government of India. Dr. Bhattacharya was accompanied by Ms. Saloni Bajaj who also spoke on the Goods & Sevices Tax.

Dr. Jaijit Bhattacharya is recipient of the prestigious APJ Abdul Kalam Award for innovation in Governance and is a noted Governance Transformation expert. Dr. Bhattacharya is Partner at the International Consulting firm, KPMG, with over 21 years of professional experience. He is also Adjunct Professor at IIT Delhi. He is President of Centre for Digital Economy Policy Research. He is also member of Governing Senate of IIIT Raipur, Member of Expert Committee for Ease of Doing Business legislation of Government of India, co-chair of Expert Committee on Skill Development for Deity, Government of India, Co-chair of Infrastructure & Smart Cities Committee of Amcham and Convener for Economic Standards for Smart Cities, BIS, Government of India. He also a Founding Partner of Catallyst Constellations LLP. He has authored five books on e- Governance, including being the co-author of the first book on e-Governance in India, ‘Government On-line – Opportunities and Challenges’, published by McGraw Hill and released by the then Honorable President of India, Shri Abdul Kalam and author of the first e- Governance textbook book in the world, “e-Gov 2.0: Policies, Processes and Technologies” that was released by the Honorable Minister of Communication and IT, Shri Kapil Sibal.
