Union Budget- 2017

The Topic of discussion was “EMERGING OPPORTUNITIES IN THE BUDGET 2017. ANALYSIS AND IMPACT OF NEW TAX PROPOSALS ON YOUR BUSINESS, THE WAY AHEAD”.

The past 12 months have been nothing short of eventful for the country and the Union Budget 2017 was expected to largely continue the tone of reforms set by the Modi government. Demonetisations and GST are likely to dominate. Demonetisation is likely to impact the GDP in the current fiscal year and it remains to be seen how its benefits could be passed on to the public the government will also propose measures to ensures that ambitious targets for GDP are maintained. A more transparent and efficient era of indirect taxes can also be expected. Further BEPS and other issues are also likely to be addressed.

The discussions leaders were Mr. Achal Chawla – Director E & Y, India Mr. Raju Kumar – Partner, E & Y, India & Ms. Priyanka Goenka – Manager E & Y, India. Our speaker leaders are qualified chartered accountant from reputed universities. They have years of experience in their respective fields.

Mr. Achal Chawla has an experience of approximately 12 years in Indirect tax domain. Apart from qualified CA he is also a certified Company Secretary. His focus is primarily in the verticals of Industrial Infrastructure and Consumer products, Oil & Gas and Defence.

Mr. Raju Kumar has rich experience of 14 years. His functional expertise includes assisting clients in energy space. He anchor’s firms’ initiatives on policy matters impacting international tax and actively contributes to newspapers with articles on international taxation/ regulatory matters/ relevant sector.
